Vape Defense is a state-of-the-art smart commercial-grade detector that can detect vapor produced by e-cigarettes or ‘vapes’.

A vape is a battery-powered device filled with liquid or “vape juice”, typically containing nicotine, artificial flavourings and a mixture of unregulated and toxic chemicals.  When the liquid is heated it produces a vapor.  This vapor is detected by Vape Defenses’ unrivalled detector technology.

When the vapor is detected, the smart detector can instantly send an email or text to alert you that vaping is occurring in unwanted areas.

Sensors can be grouped together individually or in zones across multiple sites.  They are easily and conveniently managed via an easy-to-use app, with all data securely held in our Australian-based servers and accessible via the cloud.

To allow for secure and cost-effective installation, Vape Defense detectors can either be hard-wired with low-cost and flexible serial RS-485 cable in a daisy-chain bus network topology.

Alternatively, if it is not easy or possible to get a cable back to the gateway, the detectors can simply be provided with 24v DC power and use LoRaWAN protocol to wirelessly communicate long distances back to the gateway.

In both scenarios, Vape Defense’s smart detectors send data to an internet-connected gateway which is the bridge between the detectors and the cloud.

Vape Defense detectors are not only reliable and will alert you if they go offline, but are also incredibly versatile, cannot be hacked into, and can be used in a wide range of environments such as toilets, classrooms, hotel rooms, offices, bars, clubs, prison, airports, and shopping centres.


Our vape detectors offer PM1 Detector technology. We are the only vaping detector in Australia that can detect PM1 particles.


PMI particles are considered dangerous due to it's extemely small size. The smalLer the particle the more harm it can typically cause.


Pmi particles are small enough to penetrate lung tissue & get into the bloodstream.
